As the season of Epiphany ends, Jesus is revealed on a high mountain as God’s beloved Son, echoing the words spoken at his baptism. This vision of glory sustains us as Jesus comes down the mountain to face servanthood, suffering and the cross in Jerusalem. Jesus accompanies us down the mountain, as we also turn this week, to Ash Wednesday and our Lenten journey to the way of the cross and the joy of the resurrection.
