In today’s gospel a stranger who was Jesus came near and went with two disciples walking to Emmaus on Easter day. The risen Christ overcame their feelings of loss and disappointment by revealing himself in the word and the breaking of the bread. Jesus draws near to us, going with us on all our journeys. He continues to reveal himself to us in word and in the breaking of the bread so we might also tell others of Jesus with us on the road.
