In today’s readings, Jesus asks Saul, “Why do you persecute me?” and he says to his disciples, “Follow me.” Jesus stopped Saul from his violence and persecution of others, and he sought out Peter who had denied him. Jesus gave them new identities and a new purpose for living. Jesus, alive and risen, continues to recreate us, calling us to follow him, proclaim him, and feed his sheep.
