Today in 1 Peter, we are reminded to always be ready to give an account for the hope that is in us. In Athens, Paul used the poetry of the Greeks to gave an account for the hope that was in him of Jesus Christ. Today’s readings encourage us to grasp anew Jesus’ promise that he is in us always — that “in him we live and love and have our being.” He will not leave you orphaned. He lives that you might also live, now and forever.
