Today’s gospel reminds us that Jesus seeks out all who are held captive by the unclean spirits of the world, offering restoration of body, mind and spirit. Paul describes baptism as being clothed with Christ, that we become one in Christ amid our diversity. No matter our ethnicity, social background, gender, or identity, God in Christ accepts all people unconditionally, giving the church a mission to cross boundaries and barriers with God’s reconciling grace, love, and welcome for all humanity.
