Today’s readings remind us to be persistent in prayer. Abraham modeled persistence in prayer, asking God to be merciful to Sodom, and Jesus taught his disciples to pray, modeling a life of persistent conversation with God. To follow Christ is to ask, search, and knock in prayer. God hears and answers prayer, strengthening and changing us. “When I called, you answered me; you increased my strength within me” (Psalm 138:3).
