In Holy Baptism we rejoice in God’s blessings. We recall Jesus’ baptism and celebrate our adoption as God’s children. Isaiah reminds us of God’s love, saying, “Do not withhold; bring my sons from far away and my daughters from the end of the earth,” and the Psalmist writes, “The voice of the Lord is over the waters.” In baptism through word and water, we are each called beloved, marked with the cross of Jesus, and given the gift of the Holy Spirit.
