Sunday’s “Service of Lessons and Carols” (see the “Music Notes” on page 10 of the bulletin, available under the Resources menu on the website) is a St. Mark’s tradition that reaches back into 19th century England with the singing of carols and the reading of lessons preparing us for the season of Christmas. During today’s service, may you hear again the grace of the gospel expressed through the richness of word and music. May we prepare the way of the Lord as we sing carols like, “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel”! This is the season of joy and promise.
