All Saints celebrates the baptized people of God, living and dead, who are the body of Christ. In holy baptism God makes saints out of sinners, and in holy communion God forgives the sins of all the saints. Today we give thanks for all the saints “who from their labors rest,” and in the same breath, we ask God for strength to hear and to heed Jesus’ admonitions in today’s gospel. May we live with joy as God gives us breath, to the praise of God’s glory.
