In writing,“fight the good fight of faith,” Paul reminds us that faith is always active doing good, rich in good works, and generous. Jesus also reminds us of the dangers of wealth that make it hard to see the poor and those in need at our gates. As Amos writes, “Alas for those at ease in Zion,” challenging us in our wealth and leisure to care for those in need around us. Jesus, the Lord of the resurrection, reminds us to listen to him, to Moses and the prophets so that we might live for others and gain eternal life.
