Paul writes, “faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Faith always watches, trusts and stands ready for signs of the kingdom in us and in this world. Abraham believed the Lord, and the Lord reckoned it to him as righteousness, and so Abraham and Sarah died seeing God’s promises fulfilled from a distance. Jesus encourages us to let go of the things of this world, setting our hearts upon treasure in heaven. He says to us, “Have no fear, little flock.”
