In today’s gospel, Jesus tells the parable of the prodigal son, who though lost, was unconditionally welcomed home by his father. As Paul writes, we have been given the ministry of reconciliation as ambassadors for Christ, living as new creations who embody God’s reconciling love for all people. “So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; look, new things have come into being!”
