God promised to make Abraham and Sarah the ancestors of many, and Paul says this promise comes to all who share Abraham’s faith in God who brings life into being where there was no life. As Abraham and Sarah received new names as a sign of the covenant, we too receive new identities in baptism as we put on Christ, denying ourselves and following Jesus. Living in the covenant of your baptism, hope against hope in the promises of God who is creating a new thing in and through you!
