On Pentecost, we celebrate the Holy Spirit, the Advocate who abides in, helps, and leads the church. Jesus calls the Advocate “the Spirit of truth” whom those who love and keep Jesus’ commandments will see and know. Through the Holy Spirit, God speaks to humanity in every language so that the reality and truth of God’s mighty works might be revealed. Jesus promises that his followers will do even “greater works than these” through him. We are to ask in Jesus’ name, confident that the Holy Spirit abides in us.
