Carolina Pro Musica February and April Concerts at St. Mark’s

During 2024, Baroque ensemble Carolina Pro Musica have called St. Mark’s home for their 46th season. On February 23, they performed a program centered on the operatic compositions of George Frideric Handel.

   

The Carolina Pro Musica’s April 5th concert was titled “A Global Experience’, featuring works from Medieval and Renaissance periods, as well as works spanning Asia, the Americas, and the British Isles.

 

 

UNC Charlotte University Chorale and Mallard creek Men’s Choir Concert, April 14, 2024

Under the direction of Dr. Jason Dungee, the UNC Charlotte University Chorale and Mallard Creek Men’s Choir offered a program containing sacred, poetic, and American folk texts. Themed “Holding the Light,” the program uplifted the listener with images of light, hope, new life and reconciliation. The concert, attended by nearly 200 people was, according to Dr. Dungee, the most well-attended university choral event.

Queen City Ringers Annual Spring Concert, April 21st

Under the direction of conductor, Laura Blauch, the Queen City Ringers performed a program titled, “Dancing into the Light.” Director of Music Ministry, Les Ackerman, also performed “A Trumpet Minuet” by Alfred Hollins, and briefly spoke about the piece and St. Mark’s organ. The well-attended and enjoyable program used handbells, bell trees, choir chimes, and percussion. We are grateful to our partner the Queen City Ringers!
